Sunday was a beautiful day. It was cold but very clear, crisp and it was sunny for the first time in weeks. We took a trip to America.
These steps are leading up to the J.F.Kennedy memorial at Runnymede. Built just after the assassination, this territory is forever America. I have no idea why this was done or why a myth has grown up that Kennedy was such a great president; he invaded Cuba, took us to the brink of nuclear destruction and started the Vietnam war. I think it says a lot more about Britain's unimportance in the world than anything else.
But it was a really nice day, even though winter is still in charge.
The memorial is well looked after and there are a constant stream of visitors.
I suppose it's hard to remember just how shocked everyone was that a president could be killed; it's not so unusual these days.
