Today's tragic death of Jacintha Saldhana, the nurse who took the hoax call about the royals, from the Australian radio show is a reminder of just how much medical staff care about doing their jobs well. Also how vulnerable people who care can be when things go wrong.
This campaign and blog is not an excuse to attack dedicated doctors and nurses but will be a campaign for proper resources to be made available as well as for proper procedures and staffing levels to ensure that people are treated well - and that includes protecting staff.
Readers probably won't be too surprised to hear that my campaign began after discussions with several medical people, wanting changes.
