Jim Hart is on vibes – rumour has it he’s on his way to the States, catch him while you still can. If you think the vibes only make musak for slow lifts or hotel foyers, check out his bluenotes. This is edgy.

As I recall, Ross Stanley is pretty bluesy on piano. Stan Sulzmann on sax and Mick Hutton on bass I haven’t heard yet. Looks like Trevor Tomkins has picked a fine lineup.

So, see if you spot someone wearing a straight tie, an attitude and leaning on an Ian Dury walking stick, say hallo.
