My Big Plan.

Quick, sell it off!

B

Here we go again, this time it’s Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We don’t often use the correct title and we should. ‘Trust’ implies it’s an independent business – No, actually we pay for it. ‘Foundation’ means it can now sell off land, pay Chief Executives massive salaries, pretend that it’s a ‘business’ – but we still have to pay for it all.

The Bracknell M.P. can forget about his super hospital, there won’t be enough money left to build a kennel.

The new plan announced by Mrs Slinger, chief Executive, in March – is to sell off all the land;

“We will not be keeping the majority of the hospital site at Heatherwood by any means…the vast majority of the buildings are empty and the buildings are massively underused”, she added “ it’s the right thing to do for both the taxpayer and the NHS”.

It’s only underused because so much has been cut ‘n shut, by the Trust already.

THE TRUST

D

                IS BUST!

It gets worse, it turns out that “early discussions” have been held with next door Frimley Park Hospital trust for this ‘failing’ Trust to be taken over (deficit £6.5 million last year) – so soon, in this mad, mad world, going to Bracknell will seem like a good option. Big fat redundancy cheques all round.

My Big Plan:

On this method of rationalisation and planning, it would make more sense to have just one super large hospital, covering the whole country, based ideally in Norway!

At least they seem to have quite good health and care provision there.
