We came down off the 'Walkie Talkie' and grabbed something to eat, then headed to The Tower of London on a bus - partly for the view of Tower Bridge;
We checked out 'The Beefeaters' at the gate;
Had a look at the castle - the four towers in the middle are the Norman Keep;
We had our lunch by the little section of Roman city wall that still survive near The Tower;
It may be better quality stone than the Roman walls we saw at Silchester, but it was built the same way - with layers of tile, every so often.
Then we were back on another bus, through The City and past St. Pauls Cathedral and on our way to Parliament Square for a view of Westminster Abbey and then Parliament itself;
And at 6-00pm the chimes of 'Big Ben', soon due for repairs;
Then we struggled off down Birdcage Walk, for a look at this;
Just outside Buckingham Palace.
I must admit, not too much of this was my kind of thing and, by the end of it, I was about as exhausted as I ever have been.
But you have to show people the sights and I think we did.
